Admission process

  1. Candidate can apply online within the time specified by the admission committee.
  2. Before filling the application form candidates must ensure his/her eligibility.
  3. Application form must be filled and sublitted on or before its last date.
  4. Merit list of Gujarat nursing admission will be published on the official website. ( https://medadmgujarat.org/ga/home.aspx)
  5. The seat will be allotted on the basis of categories.
  6. Government seats:75% of the total approved seats of Gujarat professional nursing and allied medical educational courses in the unaided schools, colleges or institutions.
  7. Management seats : 25 % of the total approves seats including 15% Non-resident Indian seats of Gujarat professional nursing and allied medical educational courses in the unaided schools. colleges or institutions.
  8. If any management seat remains vacnt, such seat will be filled in as the available Government seat.

Admission criteria –B.Sc.Nursing

  1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  2. Minimum Educational Qualification
    • Candidate with Science who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) and must have
    • obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English
    • individually.
    • Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of
    • Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government having Science subjects and English only.
    • English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Nursing).
  3. Colour blind candidates are eligible provided that colour corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
  4. Candidate shall be medically fit.
  5. Married candidates are also eligible for admission.
  6. Students shall be admitted once in a year.
  7. Management seats : 25 % of the total approves seats including 15% Non-resident Indian seats of Gujarat professional nursing and allied medical educational courses in the unaided schools. colleges or institutions.
  8. Selection of candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination. Entrance test** shall comprise of:
    • Aptitude for Nursing 20 marks
    • Physics 20 marks
    • Chemistry 20 marks
    • Biology 20 marks
    • English 20 marks

Minimum qualifying marks for entrance test shall be 50% marks. **Entrance test shall be conducted by University/State Government. Faculties

Admission criteria –.General Nursing & Midwifery

  1. 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable.
  2. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing council.
  3. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.
  4. Registered ANM with pass mark.

For foreign nationals

The entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Institution, State Nursing Council will be responsible to ensure that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above.

Reservation:

For disabled candidates: 3% Disability reservation to be considered with a disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria with regard to age and qualification will be same as prescribed for each nursing programme.Note: A committee to be formed consisting of medical officer authorized by medical board of state government and a nursing expert in the panel which may decide whether the candidates have the disability of locomotor of 40% to 50%.

5% is relaxed for SC/ST candidates.

Any other quotas as per the State Govt. under the reservation policy Note: Quotas shall be included in the seats sanctioned and not above it..

  1. Admission of students shall be once in a year.
  2. Students shall be medically fit.
  3. Minimum age for admission will be 17 years. (as on 31st December of that year) The upper age limit is 35 yrs. For ANM/ for LHV, there is no age bar.
